Position: NYU Impact Investment Fund Graduate Fellow Team: Experiential Learning Office: Office of Learning Innovation The Experiential Learning team creates academic experiences to connect curriculum theory to real business application. This position will directly support one of our courses, the NYU Impact Investment Fund (NIIF). Developed as a joint venture between the faculty and students of New York University's Stern, Wagner, and the Law School, and now collaborating with NYU Abu Dhabi, NIIF supports student investors targeting social enterprises in the sectors of financial inclusion, environment, healthcare, aging, education, and food systems. This course's pedagogical objective is to familiarize students with the practices of early-stage impact investing, both in terms of the investment process and the management of an early-stage investment fund. This is achieved through a combination of theory (readings and lectures), shared experiences from practitioners, and hands-on activities (both hypothetical, as in the discussion of cases, and real, throughout the Fund's investment process). The course follows an arc that covers all the basic phases of an early-stage impact investment including: definition of a fund's investment thesis and impact thesis, fundraising, identification and evaluation of investment opportunities, investment screening, due diligence, definition and validation of impact metrics, deal structuring, deal negotiation, deal execution, investment monitoring and reporting, exit and workouts. The selected graduate fellow will be responsible for working collaboratively with the professor of NIIF and the Experiential Learning team to support current NIIF students. These responsibilities will include: Develop a thorough understanding of the course structure including key tasks and student activities, including their upcoming deliverables and deadlines Provide feedback on student submissions and help with grading Support the tracking of progress to completion of the tasks assigned to the Deal Teams and Function Teams, in coordination with the point person for each of those Teams Provide guidance to the student teams, as needed (written feedback, occasional office hours) Serve as a point of reference for the students and be an interface between students and faculty Support the Student Advisory Board and the Investment Committee with the process of advancing investment prospects Preferred Qualifications Prior enrollment in NIIF course (not required but helpful) Familiarity with early stage (angel or VC) enterprise investing (required if you have not taken NIIF) Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work on a cross-functional, diverse, and high performing team The time commitment is for 10 hrs/week for the Fall 2025 semester. Class is held on alternate Wednesdays from 12-1:20pm so availability to attend class in person is highly preferred. The remainder of the schedule is hybrid and can be flexible around your class schedule. Compensation for the position is a financial aid award of up to $4000. The hourly pay for graduate students is $30/hour. You must be able to commit to the role through the entire 2025 Fall semester. To be considered for this position, please complete the application and email your resume to Katheryn Rengifo at kr3480@stern.nyu.edu.
